Six different freaks, six different music tastes from raging punk/hard-core through funky baselines to free jazz, but there is one thing that makes all the mess into one concrete piece - love for Jamaican riddims, especially ska music. dr.GREEN aren't just one more ska-core band. They always try to mix different styles in their own way. You can hear old school ska song, then raw punk/HC and after modern ska with jazzy touch. In general, the band is a part of d.i.y. underground movement.

dr.GREEN played lots of gigs all over Lithuania, toured in Poland, Austria, Finland, Germany, Ireland, Czech, Slovak, Croatia, Slovenia, Italy, France, Latvia, Russia and got one of the most popular alternative bands in Lithuania, especially in their home-town Vilnius. The band played in small clubs for 20-30 people as well as in festivals ("Kulturschock"-Berlin(D), "Afryka"-Torun(PL), "Tabuns"-Kuldiga(LV)) for some thousands. dr.GREEN shared a stage with such as SPITFIRE, INNER TERRESTRIALS, DIVIDE+CONQUER, ROBOTNI?KA, LA FRACTION, TOAD, MOLAIRE, OI POLLOI, the EX, PRIDIGARJI, ALIANS, GUTS PIE EARSHOT, POST REGIMENT, KAFKA, etc.

In the end of 1997 dr.GREEN recorded their material, it was released by themselves with "Zona" label support. Debut album "Ska'n'go" was sold over 500 copies, it is distributed in England by Ripping Thrash distro, Poland by QQRYQ Prod., Nikt Nic Nie Wie and Shing D.I.Y. Industry labels, Finland by Brew Records, Latvia by Tornis mail-order. One song from the debut album was included on international antifa ska compilation "Skanking the Scum Away" released by Mad Butcher label in Germany. Finnish Brew rec. released dr.GREEN "He Perdido?" EP with some tunes from "Ska'n'go".

The second album "The Sounds of Black & White Radio" was recorded in the end of 1999 in over 80 hours. The album was mixed and produced by the band. It was released in February by Lithuanian label "Kablio Muzika" and re-released by Polish, Russian and Finnish labels and distributed in Latvia, England, USA, Japan, etc. Number of songs were included in various compilations in Latvia, Russia, Greece, England, Finland. dr.GREEN really improved their sound with double alto/tenor saxophones section and even female vocals. New record sounds more solid, groovy and it is a fine example how Jamaican beats sounds in a Lithuanian way.

The band runs unofficial "Green" club, which is their rehearsal room as well. It would be not too strong to say, that dr.GREEN brought ska to Lithuania through playing it, promoting it in media, playing ska records.

dr.GREEN are part of Vilnius Hardcore group, which has organized action against NATO summit in Vilnius or protest action against violence in Genoa near Italian embassy in Vilnius.

dr.GREEN stands for cannabis decriminalization and against all this macho, nazi/racist bullshit, violence, pop-way-of-life and always support honest "do-it-yourself" idea.
