Pligma zine #5
One of the most known bands from Lithuania mainly for their attitude but also for their energetic stance Dr.Green appears with one more release. It's the 9-trax "Purvas". The sound is original again with some wind instruments and alternative melodies while the lyrics are something so folklor for my ears (in Lithuanian) but unfortunately I can't understand anything... Sovereign point is the existence of ska lines combinated with loud guitars and punk rhythms a total so pleasant for me! Reason to Believe #7
I'll hold my hands up, ska really is not my cup of the old chai, most of the time (with a couple of exceptions) it really grates me. But, I still feel confident to say this is a damn fine ska-punk record, with a hard edge to it (i.e. it's not like No Doubt) and some good inventive musicianship. It's also great to get record from Lithuania, and if I take the indications from their nice note they included and the inlay, these guys are very supportive of the DIY scene, and offer to set up shows for anyone passing through. Ok, so I may not listen to this a great deal, but it is good and their hearts seem to be in the right place so if you get chance why don't you check these guys out. The Flagburner #11
Weed-fueled Lithuanian ska at its best! Dr.Green is back with a new CD. Nine somewhat punky but anyway catchy ska-songs (not in the fastest cathegory), some in Lithuanian and some in English (don't seem to deal with important issues, at least not the English ones, but hey, you can't plan the revolution 24 hours a day, can you?), that make you tap your feet and wanna dance, I can't help it, but I love ska, especially on days like this one, when the sun shines. A good quality package, with slick covers and an extra colour added. The Flagburner / c/o Janne Nystrom / Eurantie 12a 9 / 00550 Helsinki / Finland flagburner@punkmail.zzn.com

Profane Existence #40
Lithuanian punk/ska sounding a lot like Voodoo Glow Skulls. 50% of the lyrics are in English and are generally political. I'd assume the same for the rest. It is catchy, and the vocals add a bit of an edge that keeps it interesting. The last track has a decent guitar riff, sort of like Citizen Fish.Closet ska fans will enjoy this. Heartattack #36
A nine song CD from this Lithuanian band. They play upbeat punk rock with lots of ska and reggae influences. Their lyrics are half in English and half in their native tongue. The songs I could read were descriptive stories of situations that relate to greater issues. Many of the songs have a quality similar to the Clash, especially with their smooth tones and guitar hooks. The more ska influenced tracks are like a party that cannot be contained. The energy on this recording is high. Heartattack / P.O.Box 848 / Goleta, CA 93116 / USA heartattack@ebullition.com
Ripping Thrash #21
Wow! This is a fucking great album! I play this one a lot. They are ska punk band from Lithuania. I put out a split tape with them and fellow Lithuanian hc punk band Invazija. This new album sees them progressing a little, the first few tracks on this album are their trademark bouncy ska punk, but later on they slow it down a fair bit with some slower ska and some dub reggae and some weird bits, at first I weren't so keen, but they pull it off, after a few plays. I appreciate the varied style of the album. They sing in their own language, which just adds to it, as it gives them quite a uniqueness. A stunning album!
